Volunteers at University Hospital choose their volunteer assignment from a list of over 60 different assignments that are available in the Medical Center.

Some assignments provide lots of patient contact. These assignments are ideal for volunteers who are interested in learning about specific aspects of healthcare, need experience working with patients for acceptance into certain academic programs or who simply want to help individual patients.

For volunteers who are more comfortable working in an office environment, there are many clerical assignments that involve helping hospital staff behind the scenes by answering phones, typing, filing, etc.

For volunteers who like to work with the public, there are assignments that involve helping visitors, patients and staff by giving out information at the Reception Desk or working in the Auxiliary Gift Shop. These assignments are perfect for individuals who enjoying working with many people.
