Mission

The mission of the Sudden Infant and Child Death Resource Center is to promote practices aimed at reducing the incidence of infant and child mortality and to encourage a supportive community response to those affected by the sudden and unexpected death of an infant or young child.

The Center connects with families, professionals and communities to provide education about the causes of infant mortality, recommendations for reducing the risk of future deaths, best practices for infant safe sleep and infant safety, and measures to meet the needs of bereaved families.
