Event Description
Freedom from obesity is attainable. The key to success is to choose the right combination of tools and support within an individualized clinical program directed by a leader in the field.
That’s exactly what we’ve created at Stony Brook. Our interdisciplinary Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center develops treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, lifestyle and goals. Options may include behavior modification, counseling, diet, exercise, group support, medical management and advanced bariatric surgery.
The center’s director, Aurora Pryor, MD, is a renowned surgeon, gastrointestinal endoscopy specialist, researcher and scholar. Along with Dana Telem, MD, associate director of the center, a full range of bariatric surgical options are available including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve and adjustable gastric banding. Both surgeons bring clinical expertise, research experience, and personalized care to the program.
