Careers in Public Health According to the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), a career in public health offers something for everyone. Some positions recently advertised by public health and community organizations are listed below: Data Manager Clinical Trials Investigator Program Evaluation Analyst Infectious or Chronic Disease Specialist Health Outcomes Researcher Surveillance Specialist Program Planner Policy Analyst Waste Management Specialist Consumer Information Specialist Information Systems Specialist Health Services Research Analyst Bioterrorism Specialist EPA Researcher/Administrator Industrial Hygienist Pollution Control Program Specialist These positions may be located within a federal, state, or local government agency, an insurance plan or health maintenance organization (HMO), a consulting company, a hospital, an advocacy group, a nursing home, or other non-governmental organization. They can be at the entry level and extend to the Manager, Director, or Vice President level.
