Training:Undergraduate education in biochemistry at the University of Tubingen, Germany.
Ph.D. (1983) in biological sciences at SUNY @ Stony Brook.
Postdoctoral (visiting Fogarty fellow), at the Developmental Biochemistry and genetics section, Laboratory of Biochemistry, National Cancer Institute, NIH, Bethesda, MD.
Research Interests:Molecular mechanisms of gene regulation with special emphasis on proteins associated with neurodegenerative disorders. Projects are currently focused on identifying regulatory factors that direct transcription from the amyloid B-protein and prion promoters.
