Resident Life

Living on Long Island

Stony Brook is a wonderful environment for living, playing and working.  Surrounded by water, we enjoy a much milder climate than one might expect.  Stony Brook is located on the north shore of Long Island, five minutes from the beach and a train or car-ride from Manhattan.  image

From sandy ocean beaches to wildlife preserves, from golf courses to professional sports teams to amusement parks, there is a tremendous array of outdoor activities.  Restaurants and vineyards satisfy the most demanding palates.  Our Arts community offers cultural events such as Independent Film Festivals, concerts, theater, ballet, museums, art galleries, and  jazz clubs.  And for the shopper, we have the full array from Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue to the Tanger Outlet Mall.
