Stony Brook pediatric residents have the opportunity to participate in international elective rotations. We have developed a relationship with Angkor Hospital for Children in Cambodia, and we have begun sending a resident there annually. The resident participates in all outpatient and inpatient rotations at the hospital, and attends conferences and lecture series. The rotation also provides the opportunity to accompany the hospital Home Care team on visitations to villages in the surrounding area, as well as

observing preventive medicine and health education activities at local health centers. Residents who have participated have expressed a very positive response to this contact with the Hospital, the staff, the people and culture of Cambodia during the rotation.
In addition to the Cambodia rotation, Stony Brook residents have the opportunity to participate in a variety of other structured International Experiences.
