One of the central goals of the program is to create an atmosphere where various cultural and ethnic differences among patients, staff, and housestaff are not only recognized, but respected, understood and embraced. The diversity of the peoples with which residents will interact is an unparalleled opportunity for learning.
Residents participate in the care of a diverse group of patients and have the opportunity to work with colleagues from many backgrounds. Our residents are women and men, members of under-represented minority groups as well as a variety of ethnic backgrounds, and many of the medicine/pediatrics residents have had children during residency.
