Primary Care Service
About Us
The Division of General Pediatrics provides inpatient and outpatient care at Technology Park Offices, Building 37 . There are six primary care offices in the area surrounding Stony Brook University Medical Center. They are located in East Setauket, Patchogue, Islip, Riverhead, East Moriches, and Southold. These offices provide routine well and sick care for children from birth through age twenty-one. In addition to caring for children, our Patchogue and Islip offices also provide adult care by our Med/Peds physicians . Evening and weekend hours are available at all our sites.
Within the hospital, we provide hospital services for sick children on our general pediatric floor. This facility is staffed by pediatricians, pediatric nurses, and Child Life specialists who are trained in caring for acutely ill children. Our Newborn Nursery provides well baby care to approximately 3500 babies per year.
The Division of General Pediatrics is highly invested in teaching residents the fundamentals of pediatrics. Residents will learn primary well child care as well as the management of sick children though experiences in our continuity clinics on the general pediatric ward, and the Newborn Nursery.
