Clinical Services

The Stony Brook Allergy Team offers medical evaluations, diagnostic testing and treatment options for allergic diseases such as: asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), sinusitis, atopic dermatitis, eczema, food allergies, insect sting allergy, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria (hives), and more.  photo The doctors also offer evaluations, testing and treatment options for disorders of the immune system such as common variable disease, hypogamaglobulinemia, and more.

Your specialty evaluation will include an evaluation with a specialty trained medical provider who can diagnose, treat, and manage your or your child’s symptoms. The medical care offered here at Stony Brook will include onsite testing as indicated in your evaluation and education for the disease process and management of the symptoms.  Testing performed on site: allergy skin test, oral food challenge, patch skin test, and spirometry (lung function test).

Education is available during your visit which will include review of  the disease process, treatment plan, use of medical devices (peak flow meters, spacers for inhalers, emergency Epinephrine auto-injector, etc.) and equipment (nebulizers, air purifiers, etc.), environmental control/avoidance (for example: dust mites, mold, pet dander), and review of medication treatment plan.
