Stony Brook University takes pride in the wonderful collegial relationships among our faculty, residents, and medical students.

Stony Brook residents are taught and mentored by national leaders in  primary care, pediatric specialties, and pediatric research. Our faculty include the past president of the Critical Care Society and the President of the Pediatric Program Directors Association, as well as Editors of major medical journals.

Our faculty includes over 80 physicians representing primary care, the pediatric specialties, as well as pediatric specialists in the surgical specialties, pediatric radiology, child neurology and pediatric anesthesia.

June, 2011 – New York Magazine’s annual "Best Doctors in New York" issue features 18 full-time and voluntary physicians in a wide range of specialties from Stony Brook University Medical Center. They were selected from more than 60,000 physicians in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area.
