The diversity of the patients we treat demonstrates the need for residency programs to diversify their faculty and residency staff.

One of the central goals of the program is to create an atmosphere where various cultural and ethnic differences among patients, staff, and housestaff are not only recognized but respected, understood, and embraced. The diversity of the people with which residents will interact offers an unparalleled opportunity for learning.

Residents participate in the care of a diverse group of patients and have the opportunity to work with colleagues from many backgrounds. Our residents are women and men who are members of under-represented minority groups and a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Many of the residents have had children during residency.
