Chair’s Message

Thank you for your interest in our residency training program in pediatrics.  Selecting a residency program that will set you on your career in pediatrics is an important decision.  We hope that the information on this site will help guide that decision and convince you that Stony Brook University Hospital is an outstanding place to do your residency training.

The Department provides outstanding pediatric primary and specialty care and serves a population of over 2 million people in Suffolk County, NY.  Our program will expose you to the full range of pediatric clinical challenges as well as experience in continuity and preventive care.  We also are embarking on a major expansion of our research programs and have numerous opportunities for resident research. 

Our residency education committee, under the Ddirection of Dr. Robyn J.
Blair, has devoted countless hours to developing a high quality curriculum
delivered in the most innovative way.  Our entire faculty is dedicated to
advancing the ability of our residents to achieve competency in pediatric
medicine, to foster an appreciation for pediatric research, and to assist
you in developing your skills as medical educators.
