International Research Elective


  • To create the opportunity for a student to conduct 1 to 3 months of mentored research in a foreign country.
  • To develop skills in either basic or clinical research including:
    • The preparation of a research proposal
    • Application for research funding
    • Submission to the IRB or animal care, if appropriate
    • Conduct of the research project in conjunction with a stony Brook mentor and an International mentor
    • Collection and analysis of research data
    • Development of a research report or publication/li>

This elective would be available in the fourth year of training.
