NB: Evening and overnight hours are covered by a combination of short call, long call and night float. Two-thirds of your clinical time is spent at Stony Brook and one-third of your time is spent at VA Medical Center in Northport.
Ambulatory: For interns and PGY2, the “4+1 plan” consists of 4 weeks of inpatient service and 1 week solely dedicated to outpatient clinic duties (both continuity clinics and specialty clinics).
For current PGY3 residents there are two 2 week blocks which will be eliminated next year, when all 3 classes transition to “4+1” scheme.
