Accreditation The Graduate Program in Public Health (GPPH) actively sought accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) from our inception in 2008. The Program hosted a successful Site Visit in March 2008 and was officially accredited in October 2008. For more information about the GPPH Accreditation report, click here. In addition, as a fully accredited program, our alumni are eligible to be certified in public health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE). This organization was established in September 2005 for the purpose of ensuring that students and graduates from schools and programs of public health accredited by CEPH have mastered the knowledge and skills relevant to contemporary public health. The certification exam serves this purpose. More information about NBPHE and the certification exam can be found at our CPH Exam page. GPPH is excited to prepare for our 2013 reaccreditation! We are actively working with our community-based partners, University leaders, faculty, staff, public health workforce, alumni, and current students. Our next Site Visit by the Council on Education for Public Health evaluators is October 17-18, 2013. Stay tuned for opportunities to provide your valuable feedback. We are hopeful that we will once again receive this distinction as the only CEPH accredited MPH program on Long Island.
