Colorectal Cancer CME

How it Works

Online CME at Stony Brook University School of Medicine

Our online CME programs are designed to be easy to read and user-friendly.  You don't need to register to access the modules.  If you want to earn CME credit after reading the materials, we'll ask you to register, pay a nominal fee, and complete a brief quiz for each module.  Your CME certificate will be provided via email.

Reading the Modules

A Guide to Enhancing Colorectal Cancer Screening is divided into four modules dealing with different aspects of preventive care systems.  The modules cover ways to improve patient adherence, information about risk factors, and details about screening modalities.  This activity also incorporates Put Prevention Into Practice: A Step-by-Step Guide to Delivering Clinical Preventive Services, an online workbook published by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

From the table of contents, you'll be able to access each module in whatever order you choose.  You can return to this site as often as you wish to read or re-read the materials.

Taking the Quizzes

When you finish reading each module, you have the option of taking the related quiz for CME credit.  You’ll need to register and pay a small fee to access the quizzes.  An opportunity to register is offered at the end of each module.

You need to score 100% on each quiz to earn credit.  If you enter an incorrect answer, you will be directed to the workbook page containing the correct answer.  You can take as many tries as you need to get the answers right.  You have one year from the date of registration to complete the activity for credit.

A certificate verifying your CME credits will be sent to you, via email, when you have completed the quiz and a brief evaluation for each module.  Completing all four modules earns a total of eight credits.
