Led by Basil Rigas, MD, DSc, the Digestive Disorders Institute is comprised of an expert clinical team of board-certified gastroenterologists and hepatologists, many of whom are also advanced endoscopists. They are also scientists and educators who regularly conduct research and contribute to peer-review journals. Our valued team members also include highly skilled and certified nurse practitioners, registered nurses and physician assistants.

We offer three specialized centers: Interventional Endoscopy Center, Gastrointestinal Motility Center and Gastrointestinal Women's Center. For 2010-11, the Digestive Disorders Institute earned the prestigious distinction of being ranked among the Top 50 nationwide in U.S.News & World Report's “Best Hospitals” issue. We also have been designated as a “Recognized Endoscopy Unit” by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), in recognition of excellence in quality and patient safety.
