Undergraduate College/University: State University of New York at Stony Brook
In college I worked with Dr. Iwao Ojima studying the synthesis of chiral monodentate ligands and their applications to asymmetric synthesis. I worked with Dr. Ojima since high school and it was a privilege to continue my work with him in college. When I started dental school, I participated in the summer research elective and worked with Dr. Julio Carrion in Dr. Christopher Cutler’s laboratory. I studied the “Expression of Atherogenic Markers in Chronic Periodontitis by P. gingivalis Stimulated Dendritic Cells.” I presented my work at the ADA Student Research Symposium in Washington DC, The Leo Sreebny Student Research Day at Stony Brook University and the New York Dental Society meeting. I was invited to attend the ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research. I also have an interest in pediatric dentistry and I have recently worked with Dr. Fred Ferguson looking at the effects of the dental home on children with cleft lip/palate.
