Course Review Timeline
6 months before the report to the Curriculum Committee
Office of UGME identifies and notifies external reviewer
3 months before report to the Curriculum Committee
The course review committee and the Course Director for the designated course for review are notified of the upcoming review and pertinent documents are emailed. Course director(s) begin to complete the on-line Course Information Form.
2 months before report to the Curriculum Committee
Course Director(s) complete the Course Information Form. Non-electronic course materials if any will be sent to the Course Review Team. The reviewers, using the Course Information Form, the report from the outside expert reviewer, the student course evaluations, interviews with the faculty and students, review the course material and begin to prepare their report.
1 month before report to the Curriculum Committee
Course Review Team sends draft report to UGME office
Course Review Team meets with Course Director to share findings and finalize report
2 weeks before the report to the Curriculum Committee
Final report for distribution to the Curriculum Committee members is submitted to the Office of UGME.
At the meeting
A member of the Course Review Team presents the report. Discussion ensues between course director, review team and members of the Curriculum Committee. Curriculum Committee makes final recommendations.
After review and acceptance
Three months before the course is offered for the next time, the course director will update the Curriculum Committee on the implementation of the recommendations made by the Committee after discussions regarding the Course Review Report.
