Information about educational options and other community resources is also available.

Autism Support Group for Grandparents
Sponsored by the Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, this group provides information and support for grandparents who wish to learn more about the disorder affecting their grandchildren. Offering speakers on issues related to autism and opportunities to meet and talk with other grandparents of children with autism.

Cody Center Sibling Support Group
This fall (2009) we will offer a weekly sibling support group, for brothers and sisters of children with autism, and autism spectrum disorders.  The group follows the SibShop model, which incorporates games, art projects and discussion in an upbeat and supportive atmosphere. The group is led by a social worker, Marlies Brandt, and volunteer helpers.
Age range of siblings:   7 to 11 years
Time:   Saturdays, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Parent Information and Support Group
The Cody Center offers short term groups for parents of children recently diagnosed with Autism, Asperger’s syndrome, or PDD-NOS.  The groups focus on helping parents develop a better understanding of autism, and giving an overview of services, systems, and helpful resources in the community.

Look Good Feel Better
Offered in conjunction with the American Cancer Society for women undergoing treatment, this free, two hour beauty program is facilitated by a licensed cosmotologist.
