The Autism School Consultation Program
Students with ASDs can, and often do, have successful school experiences. The Autism School Consultation Program was developed to help provide the necessary
support, education and training for educational professionals who work directly with this growing population of students.
The mission of the Cody Center's Autism School Consultation Program is to:
- Support students with autism spectrum disorders in the least restrictive environment (LRE) to help ensure that they receive a free and appropriate
public education (FAPE);
- Provide proactive, skill building technical assistance (e.g., providing accurate information about ASDs; modeling effective techniques;
providing staff training; and conducting workshops) related to clinically sound and empirically supported interventions
- Provide parent training to the parents of students who have autism spectrum disorders
Autism School Consultation Services have been provided by the professionals of the Cody Center (and formerly the Division of Developmental Disabilities)
for more than ten years.
