Prepaid Surgical Procedures and Prepaid Rate for Plastic Surgery
The Stony Brook University Medical Center Ambulatory Surgery Center has a discounted rate for certain prepaid surgical procedures. This program will be reviewed every six months. We reerve the right to cancel or change the terms of this offer.
The facility fee discount requires full prepayment in advance of the surgery.
Our discounted facility fee schedule is:
| First Hour, or part thereof | $927.00 |
| Second Hour, or part thereof | $600.00 |
| Subsequent Hour, or part thereof | $600 |
Time charged will begin as the patient enters the operating room and will cease when the patient leaves the operating room.
If the surgeon's surgical time estimate is inaccurate, we will either refund the overpayment for unused time or balance bill the patient for the additional time. Surgeons will be monitored for inappropriate time estimation.
The facility reserves the right to charge extra for non-basic supplies and medications. A good example would be the charge for an implant. Most usual associated services such as recovery room, usual medications, etc. are included in the above fee.
The Anesthesia department will also provide a discounted rate for services prepaid in full. This offer will be valid for a trial period of six months. Anesthesia billing will be based on the American Anesthesia Society Relative Value Guide, which consists of base and time units. The unit charge is discounted to $69 per unit. Underestimated time will be balanced billed to the patient.
