Center Activities
Here is a breif list of Center's activities:
- To Coordinate an Advisory Panel of prominent mental health clinicians, researchers educators and community agency leaders in Suffolk County who work in the area of family violence
Development of an internet site that will provide current information regarding what is being done within the Family Violence Education and Research Center, the Health Sciences Center, the University and the community in regard to violence.
A bi-annual newsletter which informs professionals on violence issues.
Investigate causation, negative outcomes and treatment of all forms of interpersonal violence as well as the identification of existing polocies that deal with these issues. A major endeavor in the are of research will be to investigate and secure funding sources to support Center research on violence.
Monthly colloquia which presents current research and clinical issues on violence and violence prevention. There are four workshops per year that represents intensive clinical training.
