Pediatric Care - Awards & Recognitions
With more than 90 Pediatric specialists and subspecialists Stony Brook University Medical Center is able to offers a full range of medical services to support the physical, emotional, and mental development of infants, children, and teenagers. Our Department of Pediatrics is where families can bring their children, knowing that they will get the best quality care in the best manner from the best people in the field. In addition, we are dedicated to expanding clinical knowledge in the field of pediatrics and educating the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric researchers.

was accredited for Pediatric Transthoracic and Fetal Echocardiography by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).

| • | SBUMC’s Cystic Fibrosis Center was recognized by the American Board of Pediatrics for our success in improving care for patients. |
| • | SBUMC’s Family Advocacy Group received First Place recognition at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) annual meeting, for our Quality Improvement poster depicting the development and implementation of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Family Advocacy Board. |
