Top Honors from Long Island Business News for “Achievements in Healthcare”

When someone is having a heart attack, time is of the essence. If balloon angioplasty is required, the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association recommends that the procedure be performed within 90 minutes.

Stony Brook University Medical Center’s "Code H Lifesaving Initiative Team" developed an initiative to reduce door-to-balloon catheterization time to well below the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association guidelines. For this important achievement we were recognized during Long Island Business News' annual "Healthcare Heroes" awards ceremony, as the winner in the "Achievements in Healthcare" category.
