Cancer Care - Accreditations/Certifications
Breast Care Center receives three-year full accreditation
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women in the U.S. Therefore it is imperative that women have easy access to excellent breast care wherever they live. For women in Suffolk County that caliber of care is available at The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Recently the recipient of three-year/full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), The Breast Care center offers all the necessary components for complete, state-of-the-art and comprehensive breast care. They diagnose and treat benign and malignant disease, offer multiple educational and support services as well as community outreach education and many different types of screening and support programs to satisfy the diverse cultural mix of their patient population.
SBUMC's Breast Care Center is among only 23 others nationwide, and is the first breast center in the State of New York, to receive NAPBC Accreditation
